Leslie's early work as a boy actor included several movies and live television plays in the famous ARMCHAIR THEATRE series and comedy series and advertising magazines as well as dramas and children's serials for radio.

After appearing as a singer on the Northern cabaret circuit he started his adult actingcareer as a very junior member of the Liverpool Playhouse Company during which time he appeared in John Schlesinger's film version of BILLY LIAR. He left Liverpool to play in the TV series THE ODD MAN but returned to the live theatre to complete his "training" with seasons at York, Birmingham, Worthing, Harrogate and Watford. He continued to make regular appearances on television in drama series including Z CARS, CORONATION STREET, ARMCHAIR THEATRE, ELIZABETH R, THE MIND OF MR.REEDER and as D.C.Broome opposite Alfred Burke in PUBLIC EYE and in several forgettable British movies.
