International Work

His first international success as a director was Somerset Maugham's LADY FREDERICK at Canada's Manitoba Theatre Centre. He also directed a highly acclaimed production of Sheridan's THE RIVALS which toured South Africa.

In New York he staged the original American comedy WHO GETS THE DRAPES? (retitled WIFE BEGINS AT FORTY for London). He directed the same play for tours in the UK and in Australia.

He also worked Down Under in Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Melbourne on numerous occasions. He directed Ronnie Corbett and Sir Donald Sinden in OUT OF ORDER which toured Australia and Christopher Cazenove as Capt.Hook in a spectacular new version of J.M.Barrie's PETER PAN which opened in Perth.

In Dutch he directed GELUK BIJ EEN ONGLUCK which opened in Amsterdam,toured Holland and was then filmed. In Swedish he directed IT RUNS IN THE FAMILY in Stockholm and RUN FOR YOUR WIFE! in Malmo.

In Danish he directed several productions for Odense Teater including the EuropeanPremere of Neil Simon's FOOLS.

He started directed in Israel (in Hebrew) at the Habimah Theatre Tel Aviv in 1992 and he has worked there regularly for several months each year ever since. He is the only non-Isreali to be given the prestigious Milo Director Of The Year Award.

His Israeli productions include THINGS WE DO FOR LOVE, NOISES OFF, BOEING BOEING, Neil Simon's THE ODD COUPLE, PLAZA SUITE, LAST OF THE RED HOT LOVERS and BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, Pam Gems' PIAF, Noel Coward's PRIVATE LIVES and the premiere of ALI BABA & THE FORTY THIEVES, a musical "special" for Hannukah which had a cast of 60 and played to capacity audiences three times daily in a 5,000 seater auditorium in Tel Aviv and in large amphitheatres in Haifa and Jerusalem.
